Helvellyn Hut
Description
Voted in the top 10 huts to stay in the UK from the Independent, the Helvellyn Hut is the ultimate in rustic accommodation with the edge of luxury. By day you can wallow in the deep sunken Japenese tub, then at night watch the glow of the setting sun shine over the Helvellyn range, before lighting the cosy fire.
As you enter, winding round the old oak trees, you climb up the decking that protrudes into the woodland and alongside the hut. The covered area allows you to sit out and listen to the rhythmic tapping of the rain, while staying nice and dry.
Inside there is a large double bed adjacent a fully functioning ensuite (not a chemical or compost toilet). The kitchenette offers everything you need for a short break with a double hob, fridge and sink (there’s no oven, but who’s cooking a roast on holiday?!). To eat you can sit at the breakfast bar taking in that stunning view, or you can go casual on the sofa in front of the fire.
Opening the bifold doors you can let nature into the hut before you dunk into the deep Japanese soaking tub built into the decking. Then relax, unwind and enjoy that stunning view.
